The role:

As a Barista at Lady Sunshine, your priority is the consistent execution of our beverage standards and the delivery of exceptional hospitality. You are the hands and the heart of our mobile shop, responsible for the technical craft of coffee and the intentional interactions that define our brand experience

No two days are exactly the same, but here is a sample day for a Barista Team Member:

6:45 AM | The Dial-In: You meet the van at a local pop-up. You aren’t just "making coffee"—you are the guardian of quality. You’re focused on the technical details: tasting the espresso, calibrating the grind, and prepping your station so that every drink is served at its peak.

8:30 AM | The Execution: The rush is on, and you are in the flow. You take pride in your speed and your precision, ensuring every latte is textured perfectly and every guest receives a genuine welcome.

11:00 AM | The Standards: Even as the line thins, your focus doesn't. You’re maintaining the shop-ready look of the van—keeping the steam wands spotless, the coffee and the retail shelves stocked. You notice when a detail is off and you correct it immediately.

12:30 PM | The Takedown: Service wraps up, and you support the effort to reset the space. You’re cleaning the machine and restocking for the next shift, ensuring the van is left in top condition for the next event.

Wrap Up: You head out with your shift drink in hand, knowing the drinks you crafted and the kindness you shared made a real difference for everyone who stopped by the van today.

  • You are genuinely kind. You lead with empathy and find joy in brightening someone’s day.

  • You are organized. You see a bottleneck in service and want to fix the flow, you see a messy shelf and want to organize it.

  • You are resilient & adaptable. Mobile coffee life has a lot of moving parts. You stay calm and keep a sense of humor when a plan shifts.

  • You take ownership. You don’t wait to be told what to do. You see a need—from a low supply to a dirty counter—and you handle it.

Type: Part-Time. We need someone with a flexible schedule to support our shifting event calendar (mostly mornings and weekends).

Physicality: You’re comfortable on your feet in a mobile environment and can lift up to 50 lbs (those coolers aren't light!).

Experience: Previous experience in the food and beverage industry is a great head start, but what we value most is your ability to stay organized under pressure and your proactive approach to taking care of our guests.

Competitive Pay: We value your organizational brain and your hard work, and we pay accordingly. Pay starts at $18/hour.

Coffee: Shift drinks are on the house (obviously).

Skill Development: You’ll get hands-on experience with high-end equipment and specialty coffee techniques in a unique, boutique setting

Daily Laughter: We take our beans seriously—but ourselves? Not so much. We’re looking for a partner who finds fun in the hustle and loves the unique energy of a local shop. If you can handle a rush with a smile and a quick wit, we want to meet you.

A Culture of Kindness: Kindness is our baseline, not an afterthought. You’ll be part of a business that protects our culture of respect, where we show up for our customers—and each other—with our whole selves.
